Perfume Protection
Once you've found your fragrance, take care of it. Keep it in
a cool, dry, dark place, preferably in a dresser drawer away from
exposure to heat, sun or direct light (which will spoil a fragrance's
character). Brosius adds, "Your bathroom is off limits; humidity
will alter your fragrance."
If you bought a "pour" bottle, don't apply fragrance
(especially perfume) with your fingers. Over time, the fragrance
will mix with the oils from your skin and change the odor. Instead,
apply it to a cotton ball, then to your skin. Tuck the cotton
ball into your bra for added enjoyment! Replace the stopper on
your scent securely to avoid evaporation.
How to Wear Them?
Layering your fragrance is the best way to increase its lasting
power. Most fragrance companies offer soaps, body lotions and
oils made in the same scent. Build a fragrance base on your body.
Use the soap, bath oil or body shampoo. Use the body lotion, splash
on the cologne or toilet water and then apply the perfume. If
you can't invest in these items, use unscented soaps, deodorants,
and hairsprays; every grooming product has its own scent and will
only end up fighting with yours.
