IMPORT INSPECTION
Having finished the Customs clearance, the importer should contact
CIQ for import inspection.
The importer should provide samples for CIQ to check. CIQ officials
will also conduct on-spot checking if they think it's necessary
or if the importer asks them to do so.
To withdraw his application for inspection, the importer must
state the reasons clearly in written form and apply for the approval
by CIQ.
If the importer fails to contact CIQ for inspection within 30
days after the application, CIQ officials will automatically consider
the application cancelled.
To have the issued certificate revised, the importer must fill
in the "Application for Modification to the Certificate",
and submit it together with the original certificate. Though most
items can be amended, no alterations are allowed as to the terms
and conditions of the contract and L/C, nor to the stipulations
of related laws and regulations.
